Formerly part of the William N. Pritchard homeplace/home lot tract. The property was purchased by Edward A. Brown in 1921, and the store structure was built soon afterwards. He moved his business, E. A Brown Furniture, from E. Franklin Street into this new building by 1926. (The building is not depicted on the June 1925 Sanborn map of Chapel Hill.)
Brown's son sold the property to the Town in October 1972. It is now, of course, a parking lot.
