The original service station on this property was built sometime between 1928 and 1930. The Standard Oil Company purchased the property in 1929, with Obie Davis and Gene Strowd as proprietors. Obie Davis became the sole proprietor circa 1933.
In 1954, the original building was demolished and a new "fauxlonial" style service station built. The business became McFarling's Exxon (owned/operated by Clarence "Peanut" H. McFarling) in 1974 or 1975. McFarling's, then owned by Rod McFarling, closed in May 2007.
It is now owned by an LLC; the service station building was completely remodeled and is now utilized as a bank.
