First subdivided circa 1910, this property was part of the Herbert Lloyd Property.
Built circa 1945. From 1950 to 1955 the structure was owned by the Uzzle Motor Company (a Durham based automobile dealership).
Then it was The Chapel Hill News Leader Co., Inc. (publishers) and The Chapel Hill News Leader (the newspaper) building. It ceased publication in 1959.
1957 ad
In 1959 it became The News, Inc. (publishers) and The News of Orange (the newspaper) building. The News, Inc. also published The Daily Tar Heel.

By February 1982, it was Foreign Car Service auto repair.
