Built circa 1921 as a general store by/for Walton Robinson (?). Also used as a filling station. It was built on NC Highway 14, which was renamed NC Highway 86 circa 1940.

On June 17, 2020, the front of the structure was entirely destroyed after some [intoxicated] teenagers crashed into the gas pumps, catching the structure on fire. Luckily, nobody but the car's occupants were injured as the crash occured at 2:30 a.m.

The original overhang was completely destroyed and was removed several days later.
