Built in 1950 for Edwin J. and Alta Stringham. The house was purchased from the Lustron Corporation of Columbus, Ohio, via Taylor-Made Homes of Greensboro. In 1950, architect Jim Webb designed an addition that was built soon afterwards. The property itself (Lot No. 7 of the Mt. Bolus Development) was purchased by the Stringhams in March 1950.

The estate co-executors of Edwin M. Stringham (i.e. Edwin J.'s son) sold the property in 1996 to James and Edith McEntire.

In June 1997, Landscape architect David Swanson obtained and disassembled the Lustron with assistance from Charlie Kahn. A new house was built on the lot afterwards.

Circa 2002 Swanson sold the structure, still in parts and in a trailer, to Gary Ace and Luna Mountainsea. As of 2012 the house was still in storage and available for sale.
