Built circa 1935. In the 1940s, brothers Eric A. and Stacy J. Neville owned/operated this Texaco service station after selling their business located across the street.
Later businesses in the building were: From circa 1949 to circa 1967: [Ralph] Morgan's Esso; from circa 1968 to 1971: [Bill and Oakes] Burch's Auto Servicenter; from 1971 to circa 1984: Sav-A-Ton Gas (operated at various times by John Lamb, then C. Roy Houston) and Burch's Auto Servicenter.
The building was demolished circa 1988. A new building, housing the North Carolina Crafts Gallery, was built in 1988-1989.
