Jules Gilmer Körner was a well-known portrait painter, photographer, and creator of decorative art. He worked commercially under the pseudonym "Reubin Rink." He designed the Bull Durham Tobacco Company advertising, which broke new ground in scale and scope - covering sides of buildings, barns, billboards, and seemingly any object they were allowed to paint on.
Körner is most well-known for the home he built in Kernersville in 1880, called "Korner's Folly."
